At Overhall we take our obligation to health and safety very seriously. Due to the nature of our work and the environments we work in it is essential that every member of our team is focused on working as responsibly and safely as possible.
We like to have a proactive relationship with our clients’ health and safety teams to help reduce risks on site and make the workplace safer for everyone.
Overhall Contractors Limited ensures that all employees are competent to undertake their duties through training, coaching, and advice. As a minimum qualification all of our Site Managers have attained the Construction Site Managers Safety Certificate (SMSTS) and other site supervisors the Site Supervisors Safety Training Scheme Certificate (SSSTS) they are also required to possess First Aid at Work qualification. We also have several team members with NEBOSH Construction Certificate.
Overhall Contractors Ltd recognises that we have specific duties and statutory requirements, which include:
- To provide and maintain safe and healthy working conditions
- To provide information, instruction, training and supervision as necessary to enable employees to perform their work safely and efficiently
- To make available all necessary safety devices and protective equipment and to supervise their correct use
- To communicate and as necessary consult with employees on health and safety issues
- To provide and maintain, so far as reasonably practicable, a safe place of work and safe means of access to and egress from that place of work
- To provide and maintain a working environment that is, so far as reasonably practicable, safe, without risks to health and adequate as regards facilities and arrangements for welfare at work
- To provide regular site briefings and task specific toolbox talks
